Sustaining Inc. Magazine award-winning growth, PJS has achieved the size and velocity where the company now seeks to add a seasoned and dynamic Chief Financial Officer to the senior management team.

The CFO will be charged with transforming the internal data-reporting and financial control systems, delivering new insights and analysis, and providing superior visibility and guidance for the senior management team. The CFO will lead and grow the existing finance group who have responsibilities for revenue recognition, vendor payment management, payroll, and Human Resources duties. The CFO will play a key and active role in building and implementing internal and external growth strategies.

Job Duties:

Planning
• Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
• Develop financial and tax strategies
• Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
• Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction

Operations
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
• Manage the accounting, human resources, legal, and tax functions
• Oversee the financial operations of future acquisitions and foreign operations
• Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
• Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems
• Implement operational best practices
• Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on retaining and attracting the industry’s most vibrant talent
• Supervise acquisition due diligence and post merger integration

Financial Information
• Oversee the issuance of financial statements
• Personally review and approve all State and Federal tax and regulatory filings
• Report financial results to lenders, executive team, and the Board of Directors

Risk Management
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile
• Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
• Maintain and ensure compliance with Approved Vendor Program

Funding
• Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
• Arrange for debt and equity financing as needed
• Develop an Investment Policy for unencumbered working capital

Third Parties
• Maintain banking relationships
• Represent the company with investment bankers and investors

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for this position should have:
• Master’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a high growth company or division of a large corporation, preferably in the business services sector
• Experience in partnering with an executive team
• High level of written and oral communication skills
• Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record managing M&A and Private Equity activity in small to mid-size companies.
• Prior aviation industry experience is welcomed, but not a requirement
• Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience with International (non-US) operations
